Intern Opportunity
We’re looking for a part-time marketing/fundraising intern to help support Intimacy: Across Visceral and Digital Performance.
INTIMACY is a three-day interdisciplinary programme of events made to elicit connectivity, induce interaction and provoke debate between makers and witnesses of works that explicitly address proximity and hybridity in performance. INTIMACY will employ digital and live art practices as agents, aiming to further practical exploration of and vibrant discourse into notions of intimacy in contemporary performance. It is framed as a forum for artists, scholars, community workers, performers, cultural practitioners, researchers and creative thinkers. Packed into the three days are workshops, seminars, a symposium and performances featuring key academic thinkers and innovative practitioners including; Johannes Birringer, Kira O’Reilly, Tracey Warr, Janis Jefferies, Amelia Jones, Kelli Dipple, Dominic Johnson and Paul Sermon. The dates of the event are 7-9 December and the venues are three-fold between Goldsmiths, LABAN and the Albany Theatre.
We have received some funding from the AHRC ICT Methods Network and Goldsmiths University of London and are now looking for an intern interested in setting up and carrying out marketing strategies seeking private and corporate sponsorship. An integral part of managing INTIMACY, the person undertaking this role will be concerned with contributing creatively to the event by helping to make it into an immersive, exciting experience for all concerned. Working independently yet fully supported by co-directors, Maria X and Rachel Zerihan and freelance Advertising and Publicity advisors, we are looking for a self-sufficient, organised and enthusiastic someone who can commit at least 5 hours per week until December.
In the first instance, if you are interested, please e-mail Maria X – drp01mc@gold.ac.uk and Rachel – intimacyrachelz@yahoo.co.uk with a short description of your skills and experience and why you’d like
to get involved in the project. We look forward to hearing from you.
